Parkstone Gun Club is a small-bore and air-gun club based in the historic port and seaside town of Poole, Dorset, in the United Kingdom.

This web site is aimed at encouraging those who have never shot a firearm to give it a try, but there is also much that may be of interest to the converted.

Other pages of this website are intended to:

Ø    Provide information and contact details for those considering entering the sport for the first time, including for parents of prospective junior members.

Ø To keep existing Members informed of current events and provide access to administration guidelines.

Ø     To provide a brief history of the Club.

Ø     To provide information about the Club which may be of general interest.

For obvious reasons gun clubs have always been security conscious, and loath to publish contact names or addresses.  That hasn't changed, but with easy access to the internet, and the advent of e-mail, and mobile 'phones, we can now give contact details without posing a security risk to our Members.

Age or sexual persuasion is no barrier to participation in the sport.  In the past we have had members from nine to ninety, male and female, rich and poor; in other words almost anyone can learn to shoot well and safely.

In the case of juniors, defined in law as under eighteen, we will require their parent's consent, and would actively encourage their parent's to attend, or in some cases would have to require their attendance as a condition of membership.  In fact we have a family classification of membership where both parents and children show an active interest.

Cost is no barrier to participation.  The Club has a wide range of both firearms and air-guns freely available for the use of it's members, and although as in any sport, getting to the top is expensive, there is no reason why initially, and for an average level of performance it should cost more than any other sport.

If this page has whetted your appetite, you will find further information on the remainder of the pages on this site.
